Privacy Policy — WatchTrack (TV Time Importer & Where to Watch)

Effective date: October 24, 2026

WatchTrack — TV Time Importer & Where to Watch is a browser extension that moves your TV show library out of TV Time and into WatchTrack, so your shows, watch history, ratings, and watchlist come with you — and then helps you track what to watch next. This policy explains, in plain language, what information the extension works with and what it does not do.

The short version: your library lives on your own device. The extension imports the TV Time export file you provide and stores your watch history, ratings, and watchlist locally in your browser. The only outside service the extension talks to for show information is TMDB, and the only thing it sends there is the show name you search for. If you buy WatchTrack Pro, your payment is processed by Stripe — we never see or store your card details. We do not sell your data.

Data We Access, and Why

Your library information is never used to build a profile of you, to target advertising, or for any purpose unrelated to importing and tracking your shows.

Permissions, and Why Each One Exists

Where Your Data Is Stored

Your imported watch history, ratings, and watchlist are stored locally on your device in your browser, using Chrome's built-in extension storage (chrome.storage.local). They are not uploaded to any server operated by us, and we cannot view them.

Backups

WatchTrack can create local backups of your library — backup files stored on your own device, under your control. As the listing says: local backup, your data stays on your device. Restoring a backup reads a file you provide, the same way the original import does.

WatchTrack Pro and Payments (Stripe)

WatchTrack offers an optional Pro tier ($3.99/month or $15.99/year) that adds unlimited tracking, automatic backups, and detailed statistics. Payments are processed securely by Stripe, our payment processor. When you subscribe, your payment details go directly to Stripe — the extension never receives, sees, or stores your card number or other payment details, and the operator receives no card data. Stripe's handling of your payment information is governed by Stripe's own privacy policy. What we can see is limited to ordinary subscription status information (such as whether a subscription is active) needed to switch Pro features on or off.

Third Parties

Other than TMDB and Stripe as described, the extension uses no third-party services. It contains no analytics and no advertising.

Data Sharing and Sale

We do not sell your information. We do not share your library, watch history, ratings, or watchlist with anyone. We do not transfer your information to data brokers, advertisers, analytics providers, or any other third party.

Data Retention

Because your library lives only in your browser's local storage, it stays there until you remove it: it is deleted when you uninstall the extension, and you can also erase it at any time by clearing the extension's data in Chrome's settings. Local backup files you create stay on your device until you delete them. We hold no copies of your library, so there is nothing on our side to retain or delete. Stripe retains payment records under its own policy.

Your Rights and Choices

Children's Privacy

The extension is a general-purpose utility for moving and tracking a TV show library. It is not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same address with a new effective date. If a future version of the extension ever changed how it handles information in a material way — for example, if any feature ever sent library data off your device — that change would be described here before or when it takes effect.

Chrome Web Store User Data Policy

WatchTrack's use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements: information accessed through Chrome's extension APIs is used only to provide the extension's single, user-facing purpose — importing and tracking your TV show library — is not transferred to third parties except as necessary to provide that feature (TMDB for show metadata, Stripe for Pro payments, as described above), is not used for advertising or credit-worthiness purposes, and is never read by a human at Redemption Road Music Group.
